Literature By Arab Women
4 sessions beginning Monday, February 4 from 1-4
We will read four books by Arab women writers in the following order: Fatima Mernissi, Dreams of Trespass: Tales of a Harem Girlhood (1994, a memoir from Morocco that reads like a novel; Fadia Faqir, Pillars of Salt (1996, Jordan); Elif Shafak, The Bastard of Istanbul (2007, US and Turkey); Leila Aboulela, Minaret (2005, Sudan and London). As in previous years, we will discuss them with open minds, making use of relevant knowledge and experiences that participants bring to the group.
Location: Schoolhouse Main Studio at The Clearing
On-line Registration: For your convenience, on-line registration is available for Winter Program classes.
