Paper Art: Abstract Compositions From Nature
June 21 - June 27
Combine paper found in nature with hemp paper made in class, and you will be on your way to creating a paper art composition! This class will explore layering and collage techniques with paper found in nature, such as beehive paper and birch bark. You will learn how to make hemp paper pulp and pull sheets of textured paper.
Color accent paper and foam board will be available in the studio and you may bring natural found-objects and specialty papers. Class art critiques and technique demonstrations will all be emphasized to guide students through the creating process.
Bring a drawing pad, a paper-cutting scissors, a ruler, a 6 by 4 by 2-inch paper sponge, an apron, long-sleeve dish-washing gloves, a one-gallon bucket and a 2-inch soft bristle brush.
