Beginning Knitting Boot Camp
September 12 - September 18, 2021
Knit yourself a scarf and matching hat in time for fall and winter! This class is for the complete beginner, the beginner looking to expand their skills, and those just getting back into knitting. There will be a selection of scarf and hat patterns from which to choose, all involving simple stitches and techniques. The class will cover casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and binding off, as well as ways to combine knit and purl stitches to achieve different textures. You will also get a chance to play with different fibers and tools that knitters use. This class will set you up with everything you need to become a lifelong knitter.
Whitney Gross opened Knit Whit’s Yarn & Crafts in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin in June of 2019. Whitney is a lifelong student with degrees in anthropology and social work, and she continues to learn new things about knitting every day. Prior to opening the yarn shop, Whitney was a school social worker in Illinois and enjoyed teaching students how to knit and giving workshops on a variety of topics. Whitney first learned to knit in Peru 15 years ago with the help of a friend and loves to share the joy of knitting with others.
Whitney will contact students prior to class and offers a ten percent discount for those students who purchase materials in her shop in Baileys Harbor.
