Door County Photography Retreat
May 12 - May 18
Enjoy a weeklong retreat photographing the beauty of Door County, with dedicated open studio time to pursue your personal direction. The class is geared toward nature, landscape and macro photography.
Half of each day will be spent in the field photographing nature at its best: iconic Door County destinations, barns, homesteads, wildflowers and intimate landscapes, along with a few hidden gems. We will capture an awe-inspiring sunset over the bay and/or explore night photography. There will be field demonstrations to enhance your photography techniques and stretch your creativity.
The other half of each day will be spent in open studio, allowing you to focus on your individual areas of interestóorganizing your photo galleries, expanding your editing capabilities, building a website, creating a photo book, doing more shooting, diving deeper into your camera and photography techniques or just enjoying the serenity of The Clearing grounds. You will have time each day to explore and expand your own photographic direction with Karenís one-on-one guidance.
The class is designed for DSLR camera users. A thorough understanding of the features of your camera is recommended. Participants should also have basic knowledge of their photo editing software as well as good working knowledge of their computer.
Some moderate hiking is involved in this workshop. Karen will contact all participants prior to class with a recommended supply list and to help identify your area(s) of focus for the open studio time.
