Wood Carver’s Workshop
September 20 - September 26
Whether you’re new to wood carving or are “seasoned” at making wood chips, this class will offer a relaxing and creative week of carving but will also challenge you to stretch your skills. You are welcome to bring your own project and carve whatever subject interests you. Ann will provide instruction in relief carving in butternut and three-dimensional figures in basswood. There is a wealth of projects to suit various skill levels and interests. Come to this class to enjoy and expand your own carving skills through the diversity of creative projects.
Bring your own carving tools. Ann will have a variety of projects from which you can choose. She’ll also have wood available for purchase, along with finishing and painting supplies.
Ann Fawver has strong roots as a fourth-generation wood carver, following in the Danish folk school tradition. Ann began her work as a wood carver over 20 years ago, when she started to explore the various aspects of traditional Scandinavian art forms. She has expanded her work to include a multitude of traditional and original work in various mediums of sculpture and painting. Ann is lucky to live in Luck, Wisconsin.
Ann will contact students prior to class.
