Winter Program

Constructing Paper Baskets
Sally Everhardus

Wednesdays, February 2, 9 & 16 from 1-2:30 (1st session), from 1-4 (2nd & 3rd sessions)

Paint paper and transform a flat sheet into a three-dimensional piece of art. The first session will be a paint-with-your-fingers on paper session so wear clothes that can get messy. This session will last only an hour or so: you will have homework from this session to bring with you to the second week. During the following two sessions, you will cut even paper strips, learn to weave and finish a cat head type basket in a shape of your choosing. All materials will be provided with enough weaving strips for you to make another basket on your own. Supplies to bring to session two and three: tape measure/ruler, pencil, sharp paper scissors, slant or bread board, spring-type clothes pins and embellishments. No previous weaving experience is necessary.

Tuition: $38

Location: Schoolhouse Main Studio at The Clearing

Materials Fee: $20.00 for paper, paint and supplies payable to The Clearing at registration
