2022 Workshop Program

Class #36

Watercolor Made Simple

Stacey Small Rupp

July 19 | 9 - 4

Join Door County watercolor artist Stacey Small Rupp to learn basic watercolor techniques through step-by-step instruction. Her work captures Door County’s spirit – fresh, tranquil, and charming. Experiment with wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and hard and soft lines. The goal is to make your painting look like a watercolor. Several small paintings will be completed, and you will end the day inspired to find your own personal style. A supply list will be sent and is available at www.theclearing.org.

Stacey Small Rupp has been painting the Door County landscape for almost 25 years. After earning a BFA from UW Stout, she has concentrated exclusively with watercolors and is a juried member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society. As a native of Door County, her work captures its spirit – fresh, tranquil and charming are words often used to describe her work. Stacey’s roots run deep to the early Scandinavian settlers of Northern Door and is inspired by nature’s ever-changing seasons and moods. Favorite subjects include shorelines, old barns, cows, wildflowers, and roads less traveled to find small paintings in nature’s beauty. Original paintings, limited edition prints and handpainted original notecards are available at Cottage Row Framing & Gallery in Fish Creek.
