Class #16

Wood Carving 101

Erik Rinkleff

August 8 & 9 | 9 - 4

So, you’re thinking about learning how to carve? Well, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss! During this relaxed workshop, Erik will introduce you to wood carving basics including wood properties, the proper use of carving tools and how to keep tools sharp. Don’t worry. Erik won’t talk too long. He’s a big believer in “learning by doing” and will get you carving your own piece quickly. By the end of class, you will have several finished carvings to place on your mantel! Bring your carving knife or purchase at class, see materials fees below.

Erik Rinkleff learned to carve at The Clearing in 1998. He now enjoys carving a variety of subjects, including Santas, snowmen, country characters, gnomes and wood spirits.
