Clearing Community Annual Picnic

Every year The Clearing community gathers to celebrate this special place and the people that are connected to it. Each year we hear stories of how this landscape can transform and renew the human spirit. Whether long-time friend or “newbie,” this place calls. And although it calls us for many different reasons, we all come together once a year to share and celebrate that common bond.

We hope you will be able to join us this September! We’ve got the checkered tablecloths, the picnic baskets heaping with great food and a landscape setting second to none. The only thing missing is you!

It all gets started at 10:30 with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments served in the Homestead Meadow. A yummy picnic buffet will be served at noon, followed by a short program to report on some of the ‘happenings’ at The Clearing and to present the 2024 volunteer and instructor awards as we recognize and thank them for their multi-faceted efforts.

The cost for the picnic is $30 per person. The event will be held rain or shine. There will be a $50 cancellation fee for on-campus reservations and a $20 cancellation fee for picnic-only reservations.

Make it a Weekend! Come, enjoy AND spend the whole weekend at The Clearing for only $205! Your weekend package includes lodging in a two-person room, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings and the picnic on Saturday. Dorm room and single-person room rates are also available for $175 & $405 respectively. (pricing is per person)
