A Little More About Where You'll Be Staying:<\/span><\/h3>

Ahh. Accommodations at The Clearing can best be described as inviting, cozy and simply furnished. The Clearing\u2019s retreat-like environment is meant to help guests reconnect with the peace and calm of the natural world. Therefore, you won\u2019t find tv\u2019s, radios, clocks or telephones in any of the rooms. What you will find, however, are things like: comfortable beds, solid maple writing desks, modern plumbing fixtures and tranquil views into cool forest foliage.<\/p>\n

Below are some helpful tools for you to explore The Clearing\u2019s charming accommodations. Take a look, and if you still have questions feel free to give us a call\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i>General Notes:<\/span><\/h3>

For safety reasons, but also to help simplify cleaning (Because of COVID-19, much more time is spent cleaning rooms than in the past.), we have removed certain items from the rooms. These include pillows, quilts, Afghans, extra blankets, clothes hangers, ice bucket, personal care products (shampoo, body wash and hand wash), the basket that covers the tissue box and the air freshener.<\/p>\n

Given what has been removed from the rooms, we recommend that guests bring the following items:
\n\u2022 Pillow
\n\u2022 Soap
\n\u2022 Shampoo
\n\u2022 Clothes hangers<\/p>\n

Guests might also want to bring the following items:
\n\u2022 Hand sanitizer
\n\u2022 Disinfectant wipes
\n\u2022 Extra blanket
\n\u2022 Flashlight
\n\u2022 Mosquito repellent
\n\u2022 Portable reading light
\n\u2022 Walking stick (if you plan to hike while you\u2019re at The Clearing)
\n\u2022 Cooler for ice
\n\u2022 Also, since we only provide hot beverages (coffee and tea), please bring any other beverages you would like, such as water, juice and soda.<\/p>\n

We will not assign roommates for those who wish to register for a dorm or for a double room. Those wishing to be in a dorm or double room must arrange their own roommate(s)\u2014someone with whom they are comfortable rooming\u2014or plan to register for a single room.<\/p>\n

There are three lodging options at The Clearing: dormitory rooms, two-person rooms and single-person rooms.<\/p>\n\n

Dormitory Rooms<\/b> contain three or five twin beds and a shared bath. (There is one bathroom in the three-bed dorm and two bathrooms in the five-bed dorm.)<\/p>\n\n

Two-person Rooms<\/b> contain two twin beds and a private bathroom.<\/p>\n\n

Single-Person Rooms<\/b> contain two twin beds and a private bathroom but are reserved for one person. The availability of single rooms is limited. They are available on a first-come-first-served basis.<\/p>\n\n

All guest rooms at The Clearing contain linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels, face cloths and extra blankets), desks, wardrobes, a broom and dust pan, an ice bucket, a fan and a space heater.<\/p>\n\n

One of The Clearing's goals is to help people get away from the \"noise\" of the modern world for the duration of their stay. To this end, rooms do not include televisions, radios or telephones. Also, they do not include refrigerators or microwaves and are not air-conditioned, although fans are provided and most rooms have a cross breeze.<\/p>\n\n

Cell phones should be turned off, or at least the ringer should be turned off, while at The Clearing. Laptop computers, radios and televisions are not allowed in the Lodge.<\/p>\n\n

Smoking is not allowed in any of The Clearing's buildings, including all guest cabins. Smoking is only allowed in the campus parking lot and the employee parking lot.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
