The quiet beauty of The Clearing offers a serene setting to explore mindfulness-the ability to focus in the present moment-and learn practices to help live with more ease, flexibility, creativity and compassion. In these challenging times, we need a ‘toolbox’ of resiliency skills to help navigate everyday living. We will explore focused breathwork, gentle movements, sitting and walking meditations, and guided relaxation sequences. An outdoor woodland hike will lead to an integrative labyrinth walk, and simple writing and creative exercises will round out the day. All levels of experience are welcome; come with a sense of curiosity and leave feeling renewed with tools to enrich daily living. Please wear comfortable clothes for ease of movement and bring a journal/notebook, yoga mat, pillow, blanket, indoor shoes/slippers, and sturdy footwear/warm layers for an outdoor walk. A pre-class letter will be sent.
Beth Coleman has spent her adult life exploring well-being on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual and trusts in each person’s capacity to cultivate practices that honor one’s deepest life wisdom. She is a certified yoga teacher, trained labyrinth facilitator, musician, Reiki practitioner and gardener of the soil and spirit. She has also completed a three-year program, Spiritual Deepening for Global Transformation, at The Christine Center in Willard, Wisconsin, and has owned and operated The Garden Lady, a garden design/maintenance firm, for 26 years. During that time, Beth has taught yoga, along with gardening, self-care and contemplative practices workshops, and teaches in The Clearing’s Summer and Winter Programs, and facilitates a weekly labyrinth gathering and meditation circle at The Clearing.
