Class Details
Danish Cord seats are a staple of Mid-Century furniture. The class will start with a brief history of this style of seating. This class is designed for a beginner who has never done a Danish Cord seat. The chair will be supplied by the student. This class will weave seats that have ‘L’ nails. If possible, the existing seat should not be removed before the class.
The student will need to supply the Danish Cord, ‘L’ nails, sharp scissors, tack hammer and a flat head screwdriver. Students should contact the instructor, Bill Seleen at 920-764-1082 at least three weeks before the start of class. Bill will suggest a source of Danish Cord and ‘L’ nails. He will also make sure that the students chair is an appropriate project for the workshop.
Bill Seleen has been caning as a sideline business for over 35 years. During that time, he has become a master chair caner. Bill’s professional background includes stints doing vocational training in a variety of businesses. Bill is a patient and skilled trainer who excels at instructing learners.
