Class Details
Make your own silver jewelry through an immersive class designed for beginner and intermediate students. This workshop explores intricate and multi-dimensional metal clay constructions. Spend day one designing and making a pendant and matching ring that is uniquely you, with 4mm stones of your choice. The ring will be wrapped on a mandrel to guarantee the finished piece is the size you need. Completed pieces will be kiln-fired in DinsDesigns kiln (on site) and returned for polishing and finishing on day two.
Jennifer lives in Appleton, WI. She has a master’s degree in management, training, and organizational development. After working in a non-creative career for over 25 years, she was diagnosed with a potentially terminal cancer in 2006, she followed her life-long love of art and began to explore a new medium: metal clay. This unique material allows her to add fingerprints, paw prints and even handwriting directly into the silver. Many students who have lost someone can capture a piece of them within the silver to create an heirloom piece. She loves working with silver and sharing her knowledge with others who love the thought of working with metals! She now believes it’s her calling to use her art to help people going through a difficult time.
