History
This was Jens Jensen’s private hideaway for contemplation and writing, built ca. 1935 by Albe Munson, Jensen’s foreman at the Edsel Ford estate near Detroit.
Today
Today, the Cliffhouse is a favorite place for students to spend a moment alone. Located on one of the most remote parts of The Clearing grounds, the Cliffhouse is ideal for a mini afternoon retreat. More adventureous students can even spend the evening. A simple bed, stone fireplace and oil lamp are the perfect companions to this rustic experience.
