Workshop Description

Class #8

Beginning Acrylic

Sandra Place

July 11 & 12 | 9 - 4

Paint with this fun and versatile medium and discover the appeal of a limited palette to many famous artists past and present! Successful color mixing is the basis for creating a harmonious color scheme in your paintings. Using just three colors plus white to mix all the colors needed, you will learn the basics of drawing, composition, working with values and color, and how to work creatively from photos and still-life set-ups. Creating two or more paintings, you'll learn how to work quickly with this fast-drying medium and how to blend colors to achieve a painterly effect. There will be demonstrations and ample time to work on your own paintings, with plenty of personal attention from Sandra, while being encouraged to develop your personal painting style. A supply list will be sent prior to class and is available at www.theclearing.org.
