Welcome to or welcome back to crochet. This class will start with some basic stitches for those just learning. We will go over chaining, basic single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet stitches. By the end of class, you will make a simple hat or some simple crocheted slippers. You will leave with the knowledge of reading patterns and how to change colors in a project.
For those returning to crochet, we will take it to the next level. You can choose a granny square pattern or try your hand at something new – Tunisian crochet. We will work together to pick the pattern that fits you and your goals the best.
Please bring a pencil and paper for notes and some sharp scissors to cut yarn. Lori will contact students prior to class
Lori is a local crafter, literally into everything, but fiber makes her happy. She has been crocheting for over 50 years and loves to watch others discover the ease and enjoyment of crochet. And she says that squishing lovely yarn just gets the creative juices flowing! Lori has been a teacher for several years and recently began to design her own patterns. The best part of teaching is watching the delight of someone making progress and dominating a new technique. You never know when a bit of crochet might show up in another weaving project or a beaded bag. The sky is the limit!
