Class Details
This course will focus on emergency care and response for citizens and visitors to Door County Wisconsin. The instructors will discuss the different levels of pre-hospital emergency response and care available to individuals of Door County. Included in the course will be a description of the type of care that can be provided by emergency responders depending on their level of licensure. The location of EMS stations in Door County will be discussed and how to activate the emergency response and what the response would look like (i.e., who will respond). The most common injuries observed in Door County will be highlighted and potential ways to prevent these injuries will be discussed, as will the resources that are available to citizens of Door County. What does a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order mean and how to share this information with emergency responders in case of a life-threatening issue will be covered. In addition, what can be done prior to the arrival of emergency personnel will be presented and simple first aid measures will be discussed.
