Pouring watercolor paint is a specific method that produces beautiful color combinations as well as creating unique qualities in a painting. Similar to batiking fabric, we will use masking fluid to save the white of the paper and consecutive color pours to establish our paintings. You will finish with traditional painting methods to complete the painting.
Leave your preconceived ideas of how to paint at home but do bring along an open mind and the willingness to experiment and have fun!
Joye will demonstrate every aspect of the pouring project, breaking it down into segments so everyone can understand. She prides herself on giving personal attention to each student and helping them grow as an artist. There will be an informative yet gentle critique at the end of each day so we can all learn from one another. You are sure to leave this workshop with newly found techniques as well as a renewed creative enthusiasm for painting. This workshop is appropriate for painters at an intermediate level to those who have been painting for years.
