Embrace our Mother Earth and all that she has to offer in Door County’s natural landscapes. This class will explore our deep human connection with nature.
The responsibility we have to Planet Earth as a human community is to understand, heal and protect all her inhabitants and wildlife. The class will explore the connections we have with water, plants and wildlife, and the potential for personal healing through this process. Each day we will explore the components that make up our environment and how we as individuals can strengthen our connection to our Mother Earth and to all living things as we come together to be part of the healing and regeneration needed for our Earth home. Daily outdoor activities will be incorporated as you awaken your divine consciousness through daily movement, meditation, personal journaling, laughter, lecture and discussion. Time will be spent in the classroom and in the field, so bring an inquisitive mind along with clothing suitable for rain or shine, including good walking shoes or boots. You might also want to bring writing materials, a walking stick and binoculars. Debbie will contact students prior to class. Carpooling is needed for this class.
Debbie experienced a deeper connection with nature during the class Walk on the Wild Side with Marion Moran in the mid-1980s. That was the beginning of Deb’s journey, and of many nature walks and retreats with Marion as a student and assistant. Marion was a dear friend and mentor to Debbie. “She opened my heart and soul to all that is—seeing things not just through the eyes, but also through touch and through the ability to listen with the heart.” Debbie currently resides in northwestern Tennessee. As a disciple of Marion’s teachings, she continues to share all that she has learned. In her free time, Debbie enjoys walks in the woods, learning about geology, reading, cooking and traveling with her husband and supporting Veteran’s causes.
