Denim shirts are wonderfully comfy, but never seem to offer a flattering fit. So why not modify that favorite shirt! Each student will bring a denim shirt from their closet that fits (it can be a bit big, but not too small). In this one day class, I will demo and discuss options for modifying the sleeves, changing the hem line, adding decorative touches to the collar and cuffs, repositioning the chest pockets to make them functional, and adding creativity to a front panel. Then the fun begins. Each student will make a plan for modifications that will unique-ify their own denim shirt. Using their own complementary cotton
fabric (s), we will cut off, remove, shorten, reattach and machine stitch our creativity back into a denim shirt that is one-of-a-kind. Sounds scary? Nope, it is easy squeezy! Expect a completed project by the end of the day.
