Have fun learning how to make at least seven kinds of decorative paper stars. We will start with long paper strips to create lacy 8-point Finnish and Swedish stars. 16-point Moravian star ornaments use paper strips as well. 8-point Spiral Stars and Bethlehem Stars start with square sheets of paper. but a 9″ Tree-Topper star with 20 points uses card-stock and lots of cutting and pasting. An amazing 80-point 4″ Polish star, which can be used as a tree ornament, just takes a steady hand with scissors and glue. We’ll also make several kinds of origami stars if there is time. Everyone will come away with completed stars and instructions and materials for making more at home. Please bring your reading glasses and a pair of sharp scissors for “fussy work” cutting.
