Learn to make two summer straw hats that will fit you perfectly! In this class, we will use raffia braid and sew it around a hat block. Learn to finish shaping the hat and attach the brim of your choice. The second hat you’ll make is a raffia sunhat with a ribbon. You are welcome to bring any trim you have at home that would work. 

Kathleen’s passion for hats has been with her for as long as she can remember. After spending years in couture sewing for women’s evening wear, she became completely captivated by the art of hat-making. She has 25 plus years of experience of millinery and hat making and loves to share her knowledge. She teaches old world techniques, and every hat is made by hand, stitch by stitch. Basic hand sewing is a plus but not required.
