Class Details
In this workshop we will explore the process of making a sculptural moss embroidery. We will incorporate embroidery floss, beading, and real wood to create our own moss garden. We’ll take a walk in the woods to collect organic materials of leaves or wood to incorporate into our sewing. We will look at the different textures we can achieve in moss using different types of embroidery stitches, primarily French knots, bullion, and turkey tail. Lastly, we will add the finishing touches of beadwork. In the end, participants will have a finished, embroidered moss garden.
