Class Details

As president of the local chapter of the Wild Ones organization, Coggin Heeringa has long promoted native plants which to most, suggests reducing lawns and planting wildflowers. But planting native trees is perhaps the best way to help our birds, native wild bees and domestic honeybees. This class will describe recent research on the ecological value of native trees and suggest species that will grow in the various soil types on the Door Peninsula.
