This class will focus on painting with brushes, pens, fun new inks, and magical effects. You will learn the basics of creating your own vibrant abstract works of art. Alcohol inks are brightly colored, acid free, dye-based paints that create free flowing textures and design. They are fastdye-basednd evaporate quickly, requiring a non-porous surface such as synthetic paper, ceramic tile, or a specifically prepared canvas. We will introduce you to working with Mixatives and Pearls (some of the Magic). Some prior experience with alcohol inks would be helpful but the class is open to beginners. Students should wear old clothes or a smock and plan to bring several small craft brushes, paper towels and a tray to carry home any work that might still be wet. Students registering for this class should have at least limited experience with alcohol inks.
