Class Details
If you’ve only thought about hand stitching and have no experience, this might just be the class for you. Stitching with wool makes appliqué approachable for anyone who can hold a needle. Students will be stitching an appliqué of their choice to use as the covering for the top of a box, or if you prefer, it could be made into a table mat, pincushion, wallhanging or whatever you choose. Additionally, slow stitching will be included in the class instruction. This is simple hand stitching (usually done by making patterns with straight stitches) that can be incorporated into a wool appliqué or done on cotton. For those wanting to sample this popular form of stitching, there will be options for your final project. Judy will contact students prior to class and will send a supply list.
Judy Hasheider has been teaching quilting for nearly 40 years, focusing on traditional designs and methods for making quilt-making fun and approachable. She hosts retreats throughout the year and does lectures for guilds in the Midwest.
