Class Details
Watercolor Batik is a technique consisting of using wax on rice paper to create an age old art that has been around since the 4th century. In this two-day workshop, you will learn how to create beautiful batik works that are amazing! Each class will also start with a short yoga stretch to help students relax and stretch stiff back, neck, and shoulders.
Barbara loves to teach at any capacity. She teaches composition, shapes, values, and color theory, watercolor and acrylic pouring, as well as watercolor batik. Beginner classes are rewarding to watch people realize that they have creative skills. She loves to watch students open their eyes to the beauty around them while inspiring them to bring out their own vision. The best compliment she has ever been given is “you taught me to see”!
She constantly hones her own skills by continuing to take classes in all different methods of water media, and her art is constantly changing! She loves that there is always something new and different and as she evolves so does her art! Her emotions and changes in her life constantly change how she sees the world.
Barbara has been teaching water media classes for over 20 years. She teaches local classes as well as workshops throughout the country and has also taught abroad for 18 years. She belongs to several art societies and has been juried into several national and international shows.
